Who we are, and what we know:

The Naked Shaman is the official public forum of Naturopathic and Shamanic Services, Inc. which is a 501(c)3 Native American Religious Association dedicated to advancing Goddess-oriented spirituality in the world, and assisting both women and men in receiving healing from the abuses of patriarchy, bringing empowerment to all people, and helping the inhabitants of Mother Earth learn to live in Balance with both themselves and all of the rest of Creation. We have moved from Oklahoma to a location near Harford, New York, and we are in the process of having our 501(c)3 moved, and registering as a non-profit corporation in the State of New York. Then we will begin working actively to bring peace between the Cherokee Tribe and the Iroquois Federation which we Cherokees were once a part of until a civil war separated us almost 1700 years ago.

Naturopathic and Shamanic Services, Inc. was founded by Dr. Sir Clifford N. Alford, Th.D, DD, MH, S/RMT, in May of 1995 in Tahlequah, OK for the purpose of protecting and reviving indigenous matriarchal shamanic traditions of the Cherokee Tribe and other similar traditions worldwide. This ministry had operated in Tahlequah and the surrounding areas, and in Texas, Louisiana, Michigan and New Mexico since 1993. His name was changed to Prajna Shiva Kalidasa by his Tibetan and Javanese teachers.

Prajna Shiva Kalidasa was born as Clifford Nelson Alford, and was apprenticed in Cherokee Medicine from the age of five by his maternal grandmother for fourteen years. His great grandmother assisted in that process for three years until her death. Prajna then apprenticed with others in the Asaga Medicine Society for another eleven years, which resulted in his being declared to be an Adawehas (Cherokee Spiritual Leader and Sexual Healer), and has pursued every opportunity to study and train with other Shamans in shamanic, sexual healing and empowerment methods from all over the world. His name in the Asaga was Stone Heart until his main teacher died when he received a new name of Henowetak which translates as "The Strange Man".

In 1990 he began an apprenticeship with a Tibetan Shaman who initiated him into the Tamang Bon Jhankri tradition, Mahakali Tantra, Tibetan Sorcery and the Tibetan form of the Kapalika Aghora Path. Geshe also revealed to him that Prajna is the reincarnation of the Tibetan Kapalika Aghora Master and Founder named Nagpopa, and committed him to work with that energy, but not teach that Path until he had received his own Aghor Mantra which happened during Navaratri in October of 2012. His Apprenticeship with Geshe lasted for three years three months and three days, and Geshe left this life behind on the evening of the final day.

Prajna also has more earned spiritual degrees, diplomas and certificates than the staffs of most large churches, temples, mosques and synagogues. The family joke is that when most of his family is interested in something then they read a book about it while Prajna gets a degree in it. He is currently pursuing certifications in Naturopathy, Spiritual Advice and Direction, Life Coaching, NLP, Clinical Hypnosis, and several other related fields. As such, he has absolutely no tolerance or compassion for those who use phony, “honorary” degrees. If you didn’t do the work then don’t claim it. That being said, he also believes that all of the certificates in the world will not make you into a good healer. Simply put, either you can move the energy, or you can’t.

Having a general lack of fear, he has often taken strong stands on the issues of personal freedom, and specifically the freedom of women, as well as various social issues which generally enrages those of a fundamentalist mind-set politically, socially, legally and spiritually. Many such groups have attempted to vilify him in ways that are often contradictory and humorous at best. If this is the price for making a difference in the world then he is willing to pay it. In an e-mail, a woman in Tulsa, OK who knows him well said:

"Oh dear Clifford (Prajna),

There may be some black in your heart but it is well balanced with the white side and all the colors in between. Yes, you are a complex person. Some find you hard to understand. The thing is - you are not afraid to speak out loud your true feelings about all things whereas most people hide behind false words to conceal and placate those around them. Once one understands your uniqueness one can relax and enjoy your friendship. I saw this in you from the start. That is why your words and actions have not ever shocked me. I am an observer and you are one interesting person to observe."

-- Marna K. Tulsa, OK

Four of the more stupid groups to have done so were "New Age Fraud" and "Witchvox" as well as the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Both New Age Fraud and Witchvox had their own particular ax to grind, and rebuttals were sent to both of them proving their claims to be unfounded. Both organizations refused to post the rebuttals. The article on Witchvox was an outright fraud that was also rebutted on the website of the Church and School of Wicca (www.Wicca.org) since the writer of that spurious article had lied about Gavin, Yvonne and Jo Frost as well saying they had said things about Prajna that they had not. Prajna was a "whistle-blower" against the ACLU, and they and the SPLC have little use for the truth and more money and attorneys than Prajna could afford to fight. Unfortunately, there is little of a legal nature that can be done against slander and defamation on the internet. While Prajna is rarely one to promote any loss of freedom, he has come to believe that some legal controls of such activities on the internet are needed and even to be desired. More about this can be read on the "Border Wars" page near the top of the tab list on the left side of this page. You can also read about it in The American Legion magazine on the Rapidfire column on pages 64 and 65 at:

Prajna has many certifications such as that of a Master Massage Therapy Instructor, a Master Herbalist, and is Ordained by both the Inner Light Church of God, a New Thought Church, and the Church of Wicca. He is also the current serving Grand Master for Mahakali Tantra.

Here at the end of this Cycle of Ages all traditions and religions that take away the freedom of others are dying. Prajna has this to say about his experiences in that process:

When I was growing up the white people hated me for being part Native American, and many of my Native American Elders hated me for being part white. Therefore, I decided that I was neither a White Man nor a Red Man, but a "Pink Man". That self-designation has continued to serve me well.

It eventually fell to me to death-walk the Asaga as that was my original vision, and no one else was fully trained and willing to serve as the Ukdena Uku at that time, and all of the Elders knew the vision from my first vision quest when they asked me to serve in that position. The Asaga was the past for Matriarchy, and that energy had to be released to make way for the new and more balanced society of the future to be able to form. The baton of Matriarchy was passed to another orgainzation who became afraid of the responsibility, and so they gave it back. We then rebuilt a new Asaga out of the ashes of the old until this past May when I turn the leadership of it over to first a new Dragon Mother, and then to a new Dragon Priest, which ended 12 years for me as the spiritual head of the Asaga Medicine Society. All of my efforts are now focused on the Tibetan Kapalika Aghora Path. I honor my heritage with the Cherokee Tribe, and I have served them well, but my heart belongs to Mahakali, and Tibetan Kapalika Aghora is my greatest passion.

Because of being a half-breed (an out-dated term that I grew up with and choose to continue to use), I am neither a White Man nor a Red Man, and my training has gone far beyond the venue of what was originally intended by the Asaga Medicine Society and the Order of the Red Hand. Therefore, I simply am what I am, and I do what I do in the way that the Goddess and I think is best, and I don't care what anyone else thinks about it. I am not really anything except myself. And, guess what, neither are you! How wonderfully freeing it is to know that!

Here is what I know to be true: I have found my true Path in this life, and know how to help others do the same. I do not define that Path for them, but help them find it for themselves, and they are then empowered to help others find their way as well. I also know that no one who is living in a physical body in any dimension on this earth is perfect, and that includes me, and I know that there are no perfect traditions which is why everything is changing. I have a proven way to help people along their Path, and yet that way changes often as new spiritual truths are revealed. That is the nature of the times in which we live, and only a fool tries to avoid it. I am willing to help anyone along their Path, and I do so as simply who and what I am rather than as a part of any particular dying tradition. It's time to let the past go, move boldly into the future, and timidity has never been my way.

Here is what we know as an organization: There is no problem in this world that cannot be solved if people will listen to the Spirits of Nature. Nor is there any disease that cannot be overcome if people will only seek the highest good of all. If you need help then know that we and our apprentices are here to assist you using methods that have been proven by countless people for over sixty thousand years. We are available to help you, train you, and empower you in every way possible. And, we are available to speak on any subject related to the work we do, and to teach seminars either here in Richford, NY or at your location. Contact us today!
